Thế giới nghệ thuật là một chỉnh thể nghệ thuật bao gồm tất cả các yếu tố, các cấp độ của sáng tạo nghệ thuật. Nghiên cứu thế giới nghệ thuật là để tìm hiểu quy luật sáng tạo của chủ thể, quan niệm về nghệ thuật, cuộc sống, nhân sinh của người nghệ sĩ. Thế giới nghệ thuật là thế giới thứ hai do người nghệ sĩ sáng tạo ra, nó phản ánh thế giới thực tại đồng thời là biểu hiện khát khao hướng tới chân, thiện, mĩ và khả năng sáng tạo của người nghệ sĩ.
Trải qua nửa thế kỉ miệt mài sáng tạo, Thanh Hải đã có những đóng góp không nhỏ vào tiến trình phát triển của nền thơ ca Việt Nam, đặc biệt là dòng thơ cách mạng. Sự đóng góp của ông dù nhỏ bé nhưng cũng góp phần làm nên một nốt “trầm” trong dàn giao hưởng thơ ca dân tộc.
