Trần Anh Lựa chọn hợp tác với Nojima của Nhật Bản, Trần Anh đã có những nước cờ mới, phủ điểm tại miền Bắc và miền Trung.
Không chỉ những đại gia bán lẻ ngoại mới sử dụng M&A để thâm nhập thị trường, mà trong nước, Vingroup cũng đang thông qua M&A để nhảy vào thị trường bán lẻ. Vingroup đã mua lại siêu thị Đai Dương năm 2014 và đổi tên là Vinmart đồng thời mở rộng chuỗi bán lẻ nay. Ngoài ra còn mua lại 100% cổ phần của Vinatexmart thuộc Tập đoàn Dệt may Việt Nam (Vinatex) với 39 cửa hàng rộng khắp cả nước.
Vingroup còn thực hiện thương vụ mua lại 80% cổ phần (tương đương 245 tỉ đồng) Công ty Hợp Nhất và đổi tên thành công ty Vinlinks, với mục đích cung cấp dịch vụ giao nhận và chuyển phát nhanh cho Vingroup.
Trong thị trường bán lẻ hiện nay đang tồn tại các hoạt động M&A song song đó là Doanh nghiệp việt bị thâu tóm từ tập đoàn bán lẻ lớn ở nước ngoài và có doanh nghiệp trong nước có nguồn vốn (như Vingroup…) thâu tóm lại các DN việt khác. Đồng thời cũng có một số trường hợp như NK là sau khi giao dich M&A thì tiếp tục phát triển bằng cách đi thâu tóm những DN khác
