Vào thứ tư, Hội đồng Bảo an Liên Hiệp Quốc đã gọi các nhà chính trị để hòa giải mâu thuẫn. Hội đồng yêu cầu các nhà chính trị lập nên một chính phủ mới “càng nhanh càng tốt, bao gồm mọi thành phần và đại diện mọi nguyện vọng của người dân Iraq”
