Nếu không phát triển được công nghiệp ôtô dưới 10 chỗ thì vào 2025, mỗi năm Việt Nam phải bỏ ra 12 tỷ USD để nhập khẩu ôtô. Như vậy, rất có thể chúng ta sẽ phải gánh chịu một mức thâm hụt cán cân thương mại khổng lồ. Vấn đề đáng ngại là, thị trường ôtô rộng lớn của Việt Nam sẽ rơi vào tay các nhà cung cấp nước ngoài.
Hiện Việt Nam có 12 DN sản xuất, lắp ráp ôtô có vốn đầu tư trực tiếp nước ngoài (FDI), nhưng không biết sau 2018 thì còn bao nhiêu DN tồn tại?
