Phần dân số sống ở nông thôn có thu nhập thấp và không ổn định nên hầu như không có nhu cầu sử dụng thẻ, nhất là thẻ tín dụng quốc tế, do vậy đây không phải là thị trường mục tiêu của ngân hàng. Phần dân số sống ở thành thị có thu nhập cao và ổn định hơn nhưng không phải ai cũng có thu nhập như nhau. Cho nên có thể chia ra hai nhóm : nhóm có thu nhập bình quân 3 triệu đồng/tháng và nhóm có bình quân thu nhập trên 3 triệu đồng/tháng. Ngoài ra còn có các đối tượng là người nước ngoài đến Việt Nam, đây là đối tượng khá đông có nhu cầu sử dụng thẻ tín dụng quốc tế cao.
