Lãnh đạo EU vừa cam kết hỗ trợ thêm

Lãnh đạo EU vừa cam kết hỗ trợ thêm 1 tỷ euro để LHQ trợ giúp những người tị nạn Syria, nguồn gốc của cuộc khủng hoảng nhập cư châu Âu.
Đây là một phần trong những nỗ lực mới để giải quyết cuộc khủng hoảng di cư tại Châu Âu. Không chỉ những người di cư Syria mà cả người dân của các quốc gia láng giềng như Lebannon, Jordan, Thổ Nhĩ Kỳ và nhiều quốc gia khác đang xảy ra xung đột cũng sẽ nhận được sự trợ giúp này.
Bộ trưởng Ngoại giao Đức Frank-Walter Steinmeier nhấn mạnh: “Tình trạng thiếu tiền ở các tổ chức cứu trợ thực sự rất nghiêm trọng. Cao ủy Tỵ nạn Liên Hiệp Quốc (UNHCR) và Chương trình Lương thực Thế giới thiếu 50 đến 60% ngân quỹ cần thiết. Trước tình hình đó, cộng đồng quốc tế phải có trách nhiệm bảo đảm rằng tình hình sẽ không tiếp tục xấu hơn và chúng ta cần phải ra sức hỗ trợ và giúp cho các tổ chức cứu trợ và nhân đạo, cũng là giúp cho người tỵ nạn”.
