1. Thi cử nặng nề quá mức cần thiết, gây nên một áp lực tâm lý và tổn phí vật chất không thể chấp nhận được cho xã hội, cho mọi gia đình
2. Dạy thêm luyện thi tràn lan, ảnh hưởng tệ hại đến uy tín nghề giáo và chất lượng giáo dục
3. Chi phí cho sách giáo khoa quá cao so với hiệu quả sử dụng
Cả ba vấn đề này đã được nêu lên từ nhiều năm nay nhưng cho đến nay vẫn chưa được xử lý thỏa đáng, dần dần trở thành nỗi lo triền miên của xã hội.
Mong rằng những kiến nghị sau đây sẽ được sự quan tâm của các cơ quan có trách nhiệm, nhờ đó có biện pháp kiên quyết khắc phục các khó khăn nêu trên, tạo nên một cục diện mới trong nhà trường.
