Hoạt động dịch thuật đang phát triển rất mạnh mẽ trên thế giới cũng như ở Việt Nam. Nó giúp chúng ta thành công hơn trong giao lưu và hội nhập quốc tế. Trong quá trình dịch thuật, người dịch liên ngôn luôn phải đối chiếu để tìm ra những điểm tương đồng, dị biệt, sự lưỡng nghĩa, những ‘gu’ sử dụng từ ngữ giữa ngữ nguồn và ngữ đích để từ đó chọn được cách dịch tương đương nhất, thỏa đáng nhất. Ngoài ra, cần chú ý tới mục đích của mỗi bản dịch để có những phương pháp dịch phù hợp.
