2.2.2 The theory of planned behavior (TPB)
Notes to the intended behavior (TPB) (Ajzen, 1991), was developed from the theory of rational action (TRA, Ajzen & Fishbein, 1975), assuming that an act behavior can be predicted or explained by the tendency to act to perform such acts. These behavioral tendencies are assuming including factors that affect motor behaviors, and is defined as the degree of effort that people try to perform the behavior (Ajzen, 1991).
Xu user behavior is a function of three factors. Firstly, the concept attitude as evaluated positively or negatively on the performance behavior. The second factor is the social influence that refers to the social pressure is felt to perform or not to perform such acts. Finally, the theory of planned behavior TPB (Theory of Planned Behaviour) is Ajzen built by adding elements perceived behavioral control on TRA model. Ingredients perceived behavioral control reflects the ease or difficulty in performing acts; this depends on the availability of resources and the opportunity to perform acts. Ajzen suggest that behavioral control factors impact directly to implement behavioral trends, and if the applicant precise sense of the extent of his control, then control the behavior was predicted behavior .
Advantages: Models TPB is considered more optimal model TRA in predicting and explaining the behavior of consumers in the same content and the context of research. Because TPB model overcomes disadvantages of TRA model by adding elements perceived behavioral control.
Cons: TPB model has some limitations in predicting behavior (Werner, 2004) . The first limit is determinant intention unlimited attitude, subjective standards, perceived behavioral control (Ajzen 1991). There may be other factors that affect behavior. Based on the experience studies show that only 40% of the variation of behavior can be explained using the TPB (Ajzen 1991; Werner 2004). The second limitation is that there may be a considerable gap of time between the assessment of behavioral intentions and actual behavior was assessed (Werner 2004). During the period, the intention of an individual can change. The third drawback is TPB model predicts predicts that the actions of one individual based on certain criteria. However, individuals do not always behave as predicted by these criteria (Werner 2004).
