Mũi Kê Gà là một trong những điểm đến kỳ thú với dân du lịch. Kỳ thú từ tên gọi những địa danh tới các trải nghiệm độc đáo tại bãi biển có mũi đất nhô ra giống hình đầu gà độc đáo này.


Mũi Kê Gà (xã Tân Thành, huyện Hàm Thuận Nam, tỉnh Bình Thuận) không sầm uất và nhộn nhịp như bãi biển Phan Thiết dù nằm cách đó khoảng hơn 20km về hướng Nam. Nhờ thế mà sức quyến rũ của Kê Gà đến từ vẻ yên bình, tĩnh lặng và có phần hoang sơ, bình dị.

Thực chất, Mũi Kê Gà là một hòn đảo nhỏ (tục gọi là Hòn Bà), nằm cách đất liền khoảng 500m. Thủy triều lên đã biến nơi đây thành một hòn đảo biệt lập, vây quanh 4 bề là biển xanh. Và Mũi Kê Gà chỉ như một phần của đất liền khi thủy triều rút, để lộ ra một dải cát nối 2 phần với nhau.

Du khách có thể cảm nhận vẻ bao la, hùng vĩ của thiên nhiên ngay từ quãng đường đến với Mũi Kê Gà. Cảnh vật trước mắt bạn sẽ không ngừng biến đổi: từ rừng cây um tùm chuyển thành những bụi thanh long sum suê, xanh mướt, thẳng hàng thẳng lối bên sườn đồi đến dãy núi phủ đầy cát trắng. Càng gần đến biển, du khách sẽ cảm nhận rõ ràng từng cơn gió trong lành và hương vị mằn mặn từ biển cả. Biển sẽ chào đón du khách với bầu không gian rộng mở, thoáng đãng cùng những sắc xanh tươi mát, trẻ trung và dịu dàng. Điểm xuyết trong những sắc xanh còn có các áng mây trắng lãng đãng trôi, bờ cát trắng mịn và bãi đá hoa cương lấp lánh sắc màu.



Khác với vẻ dịu dàng của những bãi biển đẹp chạy theo bờ cát trắng mịn ở Phan Thiết, Mũi Kê Gà lại gây ấn tượng mạnh mẽ với du khách bởi bãi đá với những phiến đá đủ kích cỡ “phơi mình” như “bày binh bố trận”. Bởi thế mà người dân địa phương thường ví von nơi này là “vườn đá”.

Các phiến đá đủ mọi hình dạng: tròn, vuông, dài, ngắn… xếp chồng lên nhau tưởng như lộn xộn nhưng lại dễ dàng gợi cho người ta nhiều liên tưởng, khiến ai ai cũng trầm trồ thán phục sự khéo léo, tài hoa của Mẹ Thiên nhiên khi đã tạo tác ra bức tranh độc đáo bằng các chất liệu phong phú. Tên gọi “Kê Gà” cũng ra đời khi ai đó liên tưởng mũi đất nhô ra biển này với hình đầu gà. Từ đó, người ta quen gọi mũi đất với cái tên: Mũi Kê Gà.

Được xem là hòn đảo có cảnh quan đẹp nhất vùng biển Phan Thiết, Mũi Kê Gà trở thành “điểm đến không thể bỏ lỡ” của nhiều du khách. Có ngọn hải đăng sừng sững, cao vút vươn mình trên nền trời xanh thẳm và sở hữu những phiến đá đa hình đa dạng, Kê Gà là hòn đảo nhỏ còn hoang sơ, bình dị nhưng chứa đựng nhiều điều kỳ thú chờ du khách tới trải nghiệm, khám phá.

Điểm tham quan nổi tiếng nhất ở Mũi Kê Gà là ngọn hải đăng Kê Gà, cũng là nơi ngắm cảnh biển đẹp nhất vì có điểm nhìn ở nơi cao nhất và bao quát nhất. Ngọn hải đăng này do người Pháp xây dựng nhằm giúp tàu thuyền qua đây xác định được vị trí, tọa độ và điều hướng dễ dàng. Mọi vật liệu xây dựng hải đăng đều do người Pháp vận chuyển từ Pháp sang.

Theo sử sách ghi lại, mũi Kê Gà là vị trí cực kỳ hiểm yếu của vùng biển từ Phan Rang tới Vũng Tàu. Từ các thế kỷ trước, có nhiều tàu buôn khi qua đây đã bị đắm do không xác định được phương hướng. Do đó, trong 2 năm (1897 – 1899), người Pháp đã nghiên cứu và cho xây dựng ngọn hải đăng Kê Gà để đáp ứng nhu cầu vận tải của quân đội Pháp cũng như tàu buôn của nước ngoài. Đến năm 1900, hải đăng Kê Gà được đưa vào sử dụng, trên ngọn tháp đặt bóng đèn lớn 2.000W với bán kính quét sáng 22 hải lý (tương đương 40km).

Dù hiện tại, ngọn hải đăng Kê Gà không còn hoạt động vì sự phát triển của các thiết bị chỉ dẫn trên biển khác nhưng “con mắt biển này” vẫn là điểm du lịch, tham quan thu hút du khách. Không chỉ là nơi ngắm cảnh lý tưởng, ngọn hải đăng còn là “tài liệu sống” về một công trình kiến trúc độc đáo đã tồn tại được gần 120 năm giữa khung cảnh thơ mộng, hữu tình nơi biển trời./.
