Hai đồng hồ thông minh thử nghiệm lần này có phong cách thiết kế hoàn toàn toàn khác nhau, Apple Watch (phiên bản thử nghiệm là Apple Watch Sport) có mặt vuông với 4 góc bo cong, trong khi đó Galaxy Gear S2 của Samsung lại có mặt tròn. Cả hai có một điểm chung là được trang bị bộ khung kim loại chắc chắn, nhờ vào đặc điểm này mà khả năng chịu va đập của thiết bị được tốt hơn và cần thiết với một chiếc đồng hồ đeo tay.

Mặc dù Samsung Galaxy Gear S2 có độ dày cao hơn với 11,4 mm, tuy nhiên thoạt nhìn sẽ thấy thiết bị mỏng hơn so với Apple Watch (độ dày 10,5 mm) nhờ cạnh viền được vát mỏng.
