Lấy ví dụ, 10 năm trở lại đây, dòng vốn đầu tư FDI từ Nhật Bản, Hàn Quốc vào nước ta tăng cao, hai ngoại ngữ vì thế cũng trở nên rất “hot”, tuy nhiên cho tới hiện tại, đa phần các công ty từ 2 quốc gia này vẫn phải tìm nguồn phiên dịch từ các công ty dịch thuật vì số lượng phiên dịch có thể làm việc tại công xưởng nhà máy rất hạn chế và việc tuyển dụng những vị trí này vô cùng khó khăn.

Thực trạng này tạo ra thách thức lớn với cả các công ty và phiên dịch viên. Đặc biệt trong giai đoạn hiện nay, khi Việt Nam đang từng bước toàn cầu hóa và gia nhập sân chơi quốc tế. Bên cạnh những thuận lợi về kinh tế, một trong những bài toán khó đó là làm sao để cải thiện nguồn nhân lực trong nước khi các hiệp định sắp được kí kết (cụ thể là AEC) sẽ cho phép công dân các nước trong khu vực tự do làm việc tại các quốc gia khác.
