Tọa đàm: “Pháp luật thương mại Việt Nam trong bối cảnh hội nhập”

Ngày 07/01/2016, tại Trường ĐH Luật TP. HCM đã diễn ra Tọa đàm trao đổi học thuật “Pháp luật thương mại Việt Nam trong bối cảnh hội nhập” giữa Khoa Luật Thương mại – Trường ĐH Luật TP. HCM và Khoa Luật, ĐH Tây Anh Quốc. Đây là một trong những hoạt động thường xuyên nằm trong khuôn khổ quan hệ hợp tác đào tạo và nghiên cứu giữa hai trường.

Về phía ĐH Tây Anh Quốc, tham dự Tọa đàm có các giáo sư, tiến sĩ là chuyên gia trong lĩnh vực pháp luật thương mại, gồm GS.TS. Umut Turksen; TS. Rick Ball; giảng viên chính Andy Vi-Ming Kok và giảng viên chính Christian Dadomo. Về phía ĐH Luật TP. HCM, có sự tham gia của Phó Hiệu trưởng, PGS. TS. Bùi Xuân Hải; Trưởng khoa Luật Thương mại, PGS. TS. Nguyễn Văn Vân và các phó giáo sư, tiến sĩ, giảng viên từ các khoa Luật Thương mại, Luật Quốc tế và Luật Dân sự.
Tọa đàm còn có sự hiện diện của đại diện các công ty luật như Công ty luật LNT & Partners, EP Legal, và Ông Trần Thanh Tùng – Luật sư thành viên đến từ Công ty Luật Phước & Partners với chủ đề: “ABC… “ …và sự tham gia của các luật sư là học viên đã tốt nghiệp từ chương trình đào tạo thạc sĩ liên kết giữa Trường ĐH Luật TP. HCM và ĐH Tây Anh Quốc. Nhiều nghiên cứu sinh, học viên cao học và sinh viên các lớp chất lượng cao đang theo học tại trường cũng đã tới dự.
Buổi tọa đàm đã chia sẻ nhiều vấn đề pháp lý quan trọng của pháp luật thương mại như quản trị công ty, hoạt động đầu tư nước ngoài tại Việt Nam, hoạt động mua bán và sáp nhập doanh nghiệp (M&A); tác động của các hiệp định tự do thương mại thế hệ mới (FTAs), Hiệp định đối tác xuyên Thái Bình Dương (TPP) và các cam kết WTO đối với pháp luật thương mại Việt Nam; các vấn đề về sở hữu trí tuệ, pháp luật điều chỉnh hoạt động khai thác dầu khí của Việt Nam.v.v... đã được các nhà nghiên cứu, các học giả và các luật sư trong và ngoài nước trao đổi sôi nổi.

Điểm đặc biệt của tọa đàm này là pháp luật thương mại Việt Nam được nhìn từ góc độ của các chuyên gia nghiên cứu và giảng dạy pháp luật của Vương quốc Anh, một quốc gia được coi là chiếc nôi của một trong hai hệ thống pháp luật chính trên thế giới – hệ thống pháp luật án lệ.
Ngoài ra, các học giả từ ĐH Tây Anh Quốc đã cung cấp cho Tọa đàm những kinh nghiệm hữu ích trong việc áp dụng pháp luật của Vương quốc Anh và những đề xuất gợi mở cho Việt Nam. Với ngôn ngữ trao đổi chủ yếu là tiếng Anh, Tọa đàm không chỉ là nơi để trao đổi học thuật, trao đổi các vấn đề pháp lý giữa cơ sở đào tạo pháp luật, mà còn là diễn đàn để các học giả, luật sư, học viên Việt Nam có cơ hội tự tin thể hiện khả năng sử dụng ngoại ngữ của mình.
Tọa đàm được tổ chức trong bối cảnh Hiệp định TPP vừa kết thúc đàm phán và sự kiện thành lập Cộng đồng kinh tế ASEAN nên đặc biệt mang tính thời sự, tạo động lực cho các hoạt động nghiên cứu khoa học liên quan đến các các chủ đề này tại Khoa Luật Thương mại nói riêng và Đại học Luật TP. HCM nói chung.
