Tưởng chỉ ở mãi bên Tây mới có kiểu du lịch này, nhưng không, ở Lào cũng có những nơi như vậy. Một trong số đó là Don Khone.

Tôi biết đến cụm từ “Du lịch ngưng kết nối” (*) khi theo học lớp Truyền thông du lịch được dẫn dắt bởi vị Giám đốc truyền thông Văn phòng quảng bá du lịch vùng Franche-Comté, Pháp. Với đặc điểm là vùng có mật độ cây xanh rậm rạp nhất nước Pháp, chẳng có gì ngạc nhiên khi nơi đây được xem là một trong những vùng khởi nguyên và lan tỏa xu hướng mới mẻ này.

Khi thế giới ảo tạm ngưng kết nối

Trong số những người quan tâm đến hình thức du lịch này, phổ biến nhất là các thương gia, rộng hơn là những người phải chịu nhiều áp lực trong công việc – những người lúc nào cũng kè kè bên mình những thiết bị công nghệ nối họ với trăm bề tất bật nơi công sở.

Sống lười nơi vạn đảo

Si Phan Don có nghĩa là “4.000 đảo” mà trong đó nổi bật nhất là Don Det và Don Khone. Với hằng hà sa số các dịch vụ vẫy chào trên mạng internet, Don Det hứa hẹn sẽ là trạm dừng chân của những người thích thử thách trên hành trình dọc ngang Đông Nam Á. Để tránh họ, tôi và Julie chọn Don Khone, cũng là đảo cuối cùng ở phía nam đất Lào, giáp ranh biên giới Campuchia.

Sau bao nhiêu vùng đất tôi có dịp đặt chân qua trong một năm làm việc ở xứ triệu voi, đảo Don Khone là nơi mang đến cảm giác thân thuộc nhất của một xứ Lào đã từng gặp trong sách vở. Phong cảnh chân chất, người dân hiền hòa, và không gian thì tĩnh lặng tuyệt đối.

Trên các diễn đàn, khách du lịch bốn phương chỉ vẽ nhau một hoạt động hứa hẹn lí thú khi tới Don Khone, đó là “hoạt động không làm gì”! Những gì bạn nên làm ở đây đơn giản là thuê một chiếc xe đạp rồi cứ thế chầm chậm những vòng xe trên con đường rợp bóng dừa, giữa những hàng rào đậm màu râm bụt, ngã lưng trên võng đánh một giấc trưa hay say sưa cùng quyển tiểu thuyết đã bao năm dở dang vì đọc mãi chưa tới hồi kết thúc. Đảo đẹp nhất vào những buổi hoàng hôn. Không chỉ riêng tôi mà dường như tất cả những trái tim ngoại quốc đều bị «đặc sản» ráng chiều làm cho mê đắm. Trong mùi thơm của ly cocktail pha rượu gạo (cocktail Lao Lao), ai nấy neo hồn mình nơi chiếc thuyền câu, hay xa hơn là phóng tầm mắt sang bên kia dòng Mekong, nơi những người phụ nữ bắt đầu thu dọn chăn chiếu phơi ngoài rào, lên đèn, khép lại một ngày nữa đi qua.

Người Lào đặc biệt dễ thương. Sách hướng dẫn nói rằng, nếu một ngày nào đó tình cờ lạc chân vào một chòi canh trên rẫy lạ, hãy cứ sẵn gạo, mắm muối, xoong nồi mà nấu nướng, đánh chén ngon lành. Điều khiến tôi thích nhất ở Don Khone đó là bạn có vẻ như đang ở nơi tận cùng thế giới, nhưng thực tế lại khác hẳn. Chưa có không gian nào thích hợp hơn để nghe Buena Vista Social Club như ở đây. Cứ mỗi tối, tôi và Julie dù có dùng bữa ở đâu cũng lại kết thúc một ngày rong ruổi bằng ly cocktail ở nhà hàng Sala Phae. Ở đây có thứ âm nhạc hàng đêm nhảy múa.


Buena Vista Social Club không phải là một ban nhạc. Đó là tên một câu lạc bộ khiêu vũ và âm nhạc rất nổi vào những năm 40, ở giữa lòng thủ đô Havana, Cuba. Sau 50 năm ngủ quên, câu lạc bộ này chỉ được thức tỉnh bởi cuộc gặp gỡ tình cờ với một tay guitar nổi tiếng người Mỹ, Ry Cooder.
