Điệu nhảy truyền thống này phổ biến đến nỗi du khách tới Bali vào bất cứ lúc nào cũng có thể được thưởng thức, dù ở Ubud hay nhiều khu vực khác xung quanh Kuta. Kecak thật ra là phiên âm từ những âm thanh tạo ra bởi một nhóm gồm ít nhất 100 người đàn ông mình trần và quấn xà rông kẻ đen trắngi.
