Xin chào mọi người, tên tôi là Jack - một linh hồn thất lạc. Đã sắp đến ngày lễ Halloween, nó làm tôi nhớ lại một thời còn trẻ của tôi. Ngày đó, lúc tôi trẻ, tôi là một người ích kỉ và bủn xỉn. Lúc tôi chết đi, ma quỷ không cho tôi vào địa ngục. Vì khi còn sống tôi đã có chơi cùng ma quỷ. Hôm kia, con quỷ thường chơi với tôi, nó đã phá phách, quấy rối mọi người. Mọi người tức quá, đã cầu cứu các vị tu sĩ để bắt con quỷ vào một cái kho và khóa chốt tất cả các cửa lại. Tôi biết được rằng con quỷ bị bắt là con quỷ thường cùng chơi với mình. Thế là Tôi liền lén mở cửa nhà kho cho con quỷ ra ngoài. Con quỷ vô cùng biết ơn tôi, nó hứa rằng khi tôi chết nó sẽ không bắt tôi vào địa ngục đâu. Tôi vô cùng buồn bã và thất vọng trở lại trần gian. Tôi đã lang thang khắp các nẻo đường như một linh hồn thất lạc không nơi chôn thân, chờ đợi đến ngày phán xét để được đầu thai. Con quỷ thương tôi quá nên đã đem cho tôi một quả bí ngô được khắc hình khuôn mặt, bên trong có những đốm lửa để tôi sưởi ấm.
Tôi rất hối hận về những tính tình của tôi lúc trước. Nếu tôi được sống lại mội lần nữa, tôi sẽ cố gắng trở thành một người tốt bụng và cởi mở với mọi người hơn. Tôi khuyên mọi người đừng giống như tôi để bây giờ không phải tiếc núi như thế này.
