Việt Nam đã đạt được những tiến bộ

Việt Nam đã đạt được những tiến bộ đáng kể trong công tác phổ cập giáo dục tiểu học. Năm 2009, tỉ lệ nhập học tiểu học là 97% và 88.5% trẻ em đi học đã hoàn thành 5 năm tiểu học. Trong số này, hơn 90% tiếp tục học trung học cơ sở, và không có sự chênh lệch lớn giữa thành thị và nông thôn. Tỉ lệ về giới cũng khá đồng đều, với gần một nửa học sinh là trẻ em gái ở cả cấp tiểu học lẫn trung học.

Để tiếp tục phát huy thành tích này và đảm bảo giữ vững thành tựu, trong 5 năm tới cần chú ý đến một số lĩnh vực, đặc biệt là chất lượng và chi phí cho giáo dục.
