Cấu hình tối thiểu của hệ thống đo đếm điện năng bao gồm:
1. Biến dòng điện (CT).
2. Biến điện áp (VT).
3. Công tơ đo đếm điện năng.
4. Mạch điện và cáp nhị thứ.
5. Thiết bị phục vụ thu thập số liệu đo đếm và đường truyền dữ liệu.
6. Thiết bị bảo vệ an toàn, vị trí niêm phong, kẹp chì.
7. Thiết bị phụ trợ, thiết bị chuyển đổi đấu nối, thiết bị cô lập mạch đo phục vụ thử nghiệm, thiết bị logic phục vụ chuyển điện áp VT, thiết bị kiểm tra giám sát điện áp và dòng điện.
