d. Tổ chức hội thảo về tăng cường giám sát dịch bệnh:
- Tổ chức 10 lớp tập huấn cho cán bộ thú y cơ sở và nông dân về an toàn và kiểm soát dịch bệnh, sử dụng và kiểm tra giống trong NTTS tại huyện Trần Đề (05 lớp); huyện Mỹ Xuyên (05 lớp).
- Thiết kế và in ấn sổ tay kỹ thuật (400 cuốn): Các nội dung thú y thủy sản: Qui định công bố dịch bệnh thủy sản; một số bệnh thường gặp trên tôm có hình ảnh minh họa; giới thiệu phòng chẩn đoán xét nghiệm bệnh động vật – Chi cục thú y Sóc Trăng; phương pháp phòng chống dịch bệnh ở tôm nuôi.
e. Đào tạo tập huấn nâng cao năng lực:
- Đã tổ chức 2 lớp tập huấn cho nhân viên thú y xã, lớp Dịch tễ học có 20 học viên tập huấn 3 ngày và lớp Phương pháp lấy mẫu và chẩn đoán bệnh tôm có 15 học viên tập huấn trong 7 ngày.
- Ban quản lý dự án phối hợp cùng Chi cục thú y Sóc Trăng tổ chức 01 cuộc hội thảo về giám sát dịch bệnh tại vùng nuôi với 80 đại biểu tham dự, trong đó có nhân viên thú y xã, huyện cùng nông dân nuôi tôm tham dự. Hội thảo tăng cường giám sát dịch bệnh được tổ chức tại UBND huyện Trần Đề.
- Tổ chức 10 lớp tập huấn cho cán bộ thú y cơ sở và nông dân về an toàn dịch bệnh và giống sạch bệnh tại huyện Trần Đề (05 lớp); huyện Mỹ Xuyên (05 lớp).
- Đã tổ chức tham quan học tập kinh nghiệm ở các tỉnh miền Trung. Cũng đã xây dựng Panô tuyên truyền về giám sát dịch bệnh ở 2 huyện Mỹ Xuyên và Trần Đề. Tháng 1/2015 tổ chức 1 cuộc tuyên truyền trên truyền hình về phòng chống dịch bệnh trên tôm vụ nuôi 2014-2015.
- Về nâng cấp cơ sở vật chất các trạm kiểm dịch thuộc Chi cục Thú y đã hoàn thành ở các huyện Vĩnh Châu và Cù Lao Dung. Riêng các huyện Trần Đề và Mỹ Xuyên dự kiến xây dựng vào năm 2015.
- Tổ chức đào tạo cho cán bộ thú y viên cơ sở (20 người) về Dịch tễ học thủy sản; Phương pháp lấy mẫu chẩn đoán xét nghiệm bệnh tôm.
- Nhận xét, đánh giá hiệu quả các hoạt động : Qua các lớp tập huấn đã đạt được mục tiêu đề ra nâng cao nhận thức của người dân trong phòng chống dịch bệnh trên tôm, bồi dưỡng kiến thức chuyên ngành và cập nhật các văn bản pháp luật của nhà nước trong lĩnh vực thủy sản cho học viên, cán bộ thú y xã. Tuy nhiên, một số xã cán bộ phối hợp tại địa phương tổ chức chưa tốt nên số lượng học viên tham dự không đạt theo kế hoạch đề ra; một số học viên tham gia lớp tập huấn nhưng không phải là người trực tiếp nuôi tôm nên gặp khó khăn trong việc tiếp thu kiến thức, học viên ít tham gia thảo luận cùng giảng viên.
