The ultimate goal of all life is survival.

Actually, that's not even a real goal, because if there were no survival then there would be no life to have any other goal. Survival, or in other words, continuity of life is the only thing life could possibly strive to achieve.

Survive or die. That's the essence of life.

I'm not saying that survival is a good thing, or that dying is a bad thing. I'm not even saying that we should all strive to survive for as long as we possibly can. We can all do whatever the heck we want, because it doesn't matter anyway. You either survive, or you die.

One more thing. Survival has nothing to do with your personal goal for life. Your goal may be to climb the Mount Everest, or change the world. Your goal may be to help others, or spread happiness. Your goal may be to learn, to explore the cosmos. Nevertheless, you survive or you die.
