Trong quá khứ, hỏi cưới là một nghi

Trong quá khứ, hỏi cưới là một nghi lễ chính thức (tương tự như lễ dạm ngõ ở Việt Nam chúng ta). Nếu trên đường đi, người nhà chú rể thấy một người đàn ông mù, một thầy tu, hoặc một người đàn bà mang bầu thì người ta cho rằng đám cưới sẽ có kết cục bi đát. Tuy nhiên, nếu họ nhìn thấy con dê cái, chim bồ câu hay chó sói thì đám cưới sẽ rất hạnh phúc, suôn sẻ.
