Tóm tắt: Nằm phía nam tỉnh Thừa Thiên Huế, huyện Phú Lộc có sự phân hóa các dạng địa hình phức tạp, tạo nên nét đặc trưng của thảm thực vật theo từng sinh cảnh khác nhau. Qua quá trình nghiên cứu đặc điểm thảm thực vật cho thấy: Cấu trúc hệ thực vật tự nhiên vùng cát nội đồng có 5 kiểu quần xã phân bố trên hai môi trường đất cát khô và đất cát ngập nước định kỳ. Trong đó, quần xã cây gỗ nhỏ - cây bụi trên vùng trảng cát khô có mức độ đa dạng sinh học cao nhất với cấu trúc 3 tầng, đây cũng là quần xã xuất hiện nhiều loài thích nghi với môi trường đất cát khô hạn.
