Các cơ quan, đơn vị có trách nhiệm kiểm tra hoạt động bình đẳng giới và vì sự tiến bộ phụ nữ đối với các bộ phận trực thuộc của cơ quan, đơn vị. Ví dụ: Tổng cục Thủy sản đã thành lập Đoàn kiểm tra việc thực hiện công tác bình đẳng giới tại Cục Khai thác và Bảo vệ nguồn lợi Thủy sản- Tổng cục Thủy sản (ngày 25/02/2014). Tham gia thành phần đoàn có đại diện thành viên Ban Vì sự tiến bộ phụ nữ của Bộ, Điều phối viên Mạng lưới giới Thủy sản Ủy hội sông Mê Công Việt Nam.
