Vịnh Hạ Long nằm ở vùng Đông Bắc Việt Nam là một phần phía Tây vịnh Bắc Bộ. Phía Tây Nam của vịnh giáp đảo Cát Bà, phía Tây giáp đất liền và thuộc địa phận tỉnh Quảng Ninh.
