Trẻ em chậm phát triển tâm thần gặp nhiều khó khăn trong việc thiết lập các mối quan hệ và tự điều chỉnh bản thân. Điều này gây khó khăn cho trẻ trong việc tham gia học tập và phát triển nhận thức, đặc biệt với những trẻ đang trong giai đoạn tiền học đường. Như bao trẻ em bình thường khác, trẻ chậm phát triển tâm thần luôn cần được chơi, qua trò chơi, qua tương tác với bạn bè, các em dần trang bị cho mình những kỹ năng trong thiết lập mối quan hệ, kỹ năng tự điểu chỉnh bản thân,... để các em vào lớp 1. Bài viết này tập trung vào việc hỗ trợ trẻ chậm phát triển tâm thần mức độ nhẹ ở tuổi mẫu giáo phát triển khả năng giao tiếp và khả năng tuân thủ quy tắc. Bao gồm trẻ có thể hiểu quy tắc, duy trì các quy tắc, thiết lập và duy trì mối quan hệ với các thành viên trong nhóm, tăng mức độ tự tin thông qua tương tác nhóm.

This article focuses on supporting children to mental retardation level of kindergarten-age lightweight developed ability to communicate and the ability to comply with the rules. Including the child can understand the rules, maintain the rules, establish and maintain relationships with the members of the group, increasing the level of self-esteem through group interaction.
