Hiện nay, nhu cầu thức ăn chăn nuôi ở Việt Nam là rất lớn, khoảng 15 triệu tấn/năm, đậc biệt là với gia cầm, nhu cầu thức ăn chăn nuôi chiếm trên 39%. Với xu hướng gia tăng mạnh này thì việc đảm bảo chất lượng sản phẩm của chúng cần thiết hơn bao giờ hết.Từ đó ngành chăn nuôi Việt Nam đặt ra một nhu cầu: cần phát triển một phương pháp vừa nâng cao chất lượng chăn nuôi đồng thời thân thiện với môi trường. Trong các sinh phẩm hoá học, AH có tiềm năng ứng dụng vào nâng cao chất lượng thức ăn chăn nuôi. Bên cạnh đó, các nghiên cứu đã chứng minh trữ lượng AH trong than bùn nằm trong khoảng 20-30%. Từ các kết quả khảo sát địa chất đã cho thấy sự dồi dào của than bùn tại Việt Nam (250 triệu km2) cũng như nhiều nước trên thế giới như Liên Bang Nga, Philipin, Malaysia, Canada, Phần Lan,...(200-7100triệu km2)
