Và không phải đẹp theo kiểu sến súa chỉ để đẹp, như nhiều phim khác, vẻ đẹp hình ảnh của Hoa Vàng phục vụ cho nội dung, cho chất tình cảm. Victor Vũ xứng đáng nhận được lời khen, ở khía cạnh khác: anh dám dũng cảm thể hiện mạch cảm xúc bằng ngôn ngữ điện ảnh đích thực, mang tính gợi, không giải thích dài dòng chiều chuộng khán giả, dù phải đối mặt với nguy cơ sẽ có nhiều người không hiểu.
