Vào ngày 28 tháng 6 năm 2002, Hiệp Hội chủ trại nuôi cá da trơn Hoa Kỳ (CFA) đã đệ đơn kiện một
số doanh nghiệp chế biến thuỷ sản Việt Nam lên Bộ Thương mại Hoa Kỳ (DOC) và Ủy Ban Thương
Mại Quốc tế Hoa Kỳ (ITC) là các sản phẩm cá tra và basa philê đông lạnh được bán thấp hơn giá trị
hợp lý tại thị trường Hoa Kỳ, gây thiệt hại về vật chất cho sản xuất nội địa. Phía nguyên đơn trong vụ
kiện là 500 trại nuôi cá catfish thuộc Hiệp hội Nuôi cá Catfish (CFA) và 8 doanh nghiệp chế biến thuỷ
sản Hoa Kỳ. Bên bị đơn là 53 doanh nghiệp chế biến thủy sản đông lạnh của Việt Nam.
