Bên cạnh nhiệm vụ kinh doanh, Agribank còn thể hiện trách nhiệm xã hội của một doanh nghiệp lớn với sự nghiệp An sinh xã hội của đất nước. Thực hiện Nghị quyết 30a/2008/NQ-CP của Chính phủ về chương trình hỗ trợ giảm nghèo nhanh và bền vững đối với 61 huyện nghèo thuộc 20 tỉnh, Agribank đã triển khai hỗ trợ 160 tỷ đồng cho hai huyện Mường Ảng và Tủa Chùa thuộc tỉnh Điện Biên. Sau khi bàn giao 2.188 nhà ở cho người nghèo vào 2009, tháng 8/2010 Agribank tiếp tục bàn giao 41 khu nhà ở với 329 phòng, 40 khu vệ sinh, 40 hệ thống cấp nước, 40 nhà bếp, 9.000m2 sân bê tông, trang thiết bị phục vụ sinh hoạt cho 38 trường học trên địa bàn hai huyện này. Bên cạnh đó, Agribank ủng hộ xây dựng nhà tình nghĩa, nhà đại đoàn kết tại nhiều địa phương trên cả nước; tặng sổ tiết kiệm cho các cựu nữ thanh niên xung phong có hoàn cảnh khó khăn; tài trợ kinh phí mổ tim cho các em nhỏ bị bệnh tim bẩm sinh; tài trợ kinh phí xây dựng Bệnh viện ung bướu khu vực miền Trung; tôn tạo, tu bổ các Di tích lịch sử quốc gia. Hằng năm, cán bộ, viên chức trong toàn hệ thống đóng góp 04 ngày lương ủng hộ Quỹ đền ơn đáp nghĩa, Quỹ Ngày vì người nghèo, Quỹ Bảo trợ trẻ em Việt Nam, Quỹ tình nghĩa ngành ngân hàng. Số tiền Agribank đóng góp cho các hoạt động xã hội từ thiện vì cộng đồng tăng dần qua các năm, riêng năm 2011 lên tới 200 tỷ đồng, năm 2012 là 333 tỷ đồng, năm 2013 trên 400 tỷ đồng, năm 2014 gần 300 tỷ đồng.
