Biến đổi khí hậu đang là vấn đề của toàn nhân loại, là thách thức lớn đối với mục tiêu phát triển bền vững. Hiện nay, xu thế nóng lên toàn cùng với các hiện tượng thời tiết cực đoan đã và đang ảnh hưởng rất lớn đến hoạt động sản xuất và đời sống của con người. Trong đó, nông nghiệp là một trong những ngành rất nhạy cảm với sự thay đổi khí hậu, bởi vì nó phụ thuộc nhiều vào các yếu tố tự nhiên như: đất đai, nguồn nước, khí hậu, chế độ thủy văn, nhiệt độ, độ ẩm... nên sẽ là ngành bị ảnh hưởng nặng nề nhất bởi BĐKH. Vĩnh Long- một trong những tỉnh chuyên sản xuất nông nghiệp, vựa lúa lớn của ĐBSCL, hoạt động nông nghiệp đóng góp tỷ trong lớn nhất trong kinh tế của tỉnh, vì vậy nếu BĐKH xảy ra sẽ ảnh hưởng rất lớn đến nền kinh tế cũng như an ninh lương thực địa phương.

Vinh Long-one of the specialized agricultural production, the large granary of the MDR, the agricultural activity contributes the largest economy in exchange rate of the province, so if CLIMATE CHANGE occurs will influence to the economy as well as local food security.
