Dự báo nhu cầu tiêu thụ cao su trong nước
Tiêu thụ cao su thiên nhiên tại nội địa Việt Nam hiện nay còn ở mức thấp, chỉ khoảng 10% - 12% tổng sản lượng (50.000 – 60.000 tấn/năm). Sản phẩm chủ yếu là săm lốp cho các xe hạng nặng, xe mô tô, xe đạp. Trong năm 2005, sản lượng lốp xe sản xuất ở Việt Nam chỉ đáp ứng khoảng 60% nhu cầu lốp xe hơi và xe tải. Các sản phẩm dung cao su mủ (băng tải, găng tay, nệm, chỉ thun…)gần đây đang được khuyến khích phát triển.
Với dân số hơn 90 triệu người, nền kinh tế đang phát triển với tốc độ trên 8%/năm, mức sống người dân ngày càng nâng cao, trong thời gian tới, nhu cầu tiêu thụ cao su thiên nhiên tại nội địa Việt Nam sẽ tăng nhanh. Dự báo trong 10 năm tới, nhu cầu tiêu thụ vỏ ruột xe tại nội địa sẽ lên tới 5 triệu bộ/năm.
