Nó mang đồng thời hai ý nghĩa quan trọng: Một là: định hướng cho việc xây dựng, điều chỉnh chương trình đào tạo giáo viên dạy môn Công nghệ; Hai là: Đánh giá năng lực dạy học giáo viên Công nhệ, lấy làm căn cứ để có thể lập kế hoạch và xây dựng các nội dung bồi dưỡng thường xuyên cho giáo viên Công nghệ.
