Trong quản trị yếu tố văn hóa tổ chức doanh nghiệp là một yếu tố bên trong rất
quan trọng, nó được thiết lập nhằm tạo ra một môi trường thuận lợi cho việc thực hiện
sứ mạng, mục tiêu và chiến lược dài hạn của doanh nghiệp. Nó bao gồm những giá trị,
niềm tin, những chuẩn mực, quy định, nguyên tắc, khuôn mẫu có tác dụng định hướng
các kết quả và hành vi người lao động trong doanh nghiệp.
Quản trị là tổng hợp các hoạt động được thực hiện nhằm đảm bảo hoàn thành
công việc thông qua sự nỗ lực thực hiện của người khác. Hay nói cách khác, quản trị
chính là việc làm thế nào để sai khiến được những người dưới quyền mình thực hiện
công việc một cách hiệu quả nhất để đạt được mục tiêu chung. Mà muốn điều hành
(sai khiến) được nhân viên thì nhà quản trị nhất thiết phải nắm vững hệ thống những ý
nghĩa, giá trị, niềm tin chủ đạo, nhận thức và phương pháp tư duy được họ đồng
thuận, ảnh hưởng đến cách thức hành động của họ (chính là văn hóa doanh nghiệp).
Vậy văn hoá doanh nghiệp chính là công cụ, phương tiện mà qua đó nhà quản trị thực
hiện công việc quản lý của mình. Song văn hoá doanh nghiệp cũng có những ảnh
hưởng nhất định đến quyết định của người quản lý cũng như định hình phong cách
lãnh đạo của họ.
