Năm 2014, doanh thu của Công ty cổ phần Sữa Việt Nam (Vinamilk) chỉ đạt hơn 98% kế hoạch mà đại hội đồng cổ đông (ĐHĐCĐ) đã phê duyệt dù đã tăng trưởng 13% so với năm 2013. Một trong những nguyên nhân dẫn đến kết quả này là do giá sữa bị áp giá trần từ tháng 6-2014.
Đặc biệt, từ tháng 6-2014, giá sữa dành cho trẻ em dưới 6 tuổi bị áp giá trần đã ảnh hưởng đến doanh thu và lợi nhuận cũng như ảnh hưởng nhất định đến hành vi mua sắm của người tiêu dùng. Doanh số các mặt hàng sữa bột dưới 6 tuổi bị trừ từ 30 đến 33%, và càng bán càng lỗ.
