Năm 2012 đựơc đánh giá là năm khó khăn của hệ thống tài chính nói chung, hệ thống ngân hàng nói riêng. Tuy nhiên, nguồn huy động của Nam Á vẫn tăng 17,65% so với 2011, đạt 6000 tỷ đồng (đến thời điểm 31/12/2012), trong đó nguồn trung dài hạn giảm 10,85% so với 2011, còn 2.400 tỷ đồng; VNĐ tăng rất ít 2,95%, đạt 4.015 tỷ đồng.
Từ những số liệu trên có thể thấy năm 2012, do những biến động khó lường của thị trường tài chính thế giới cũng như Việt Nam, tốc độ tăng trưởng nguồn huy động có giảm so với năm 2010 và 2011, nhưng ngân hàng đã giữ vững và tăng trưởng tốt nguồn vốn. Điều đó chứng tỏ hoạt động của chi nhánh thực sự có hiệu quả, uy tín, thu hút được khách hàng.
