Ngày 10.1.2016 là ngày vô cùng buồn của làng âm nhạc thế giới, khi chứng kiến sự ra đi của David Bowie - một trong những huyền thoại âm nhạc sống còn sót lại, người cùng thời với John Lennon, Freddie Mercury... Người mà những nghệ sĩ nhạc Rock hay Pop sau này dường như có rất ít người không chịu ảnh hưởng từ ông như Steven Wilson đã phải đau buồn nói như vậy trên trang facebook của mình:
"Tôi đã cảm thấy không thực khi thức dậy sáng nay trong một thế giới mà David Bowie không còn sống ở đó nữa. Tôi không thể hình dung ra có bất kì nghệ sĩ nhạc Pop hay Rock nào trên đời này mà không chịu ảnh hưởng từ Bowie, dù trực tiếp hay gián tiếp mà tôi cũng không phải ngoại lệ".
