Theo báo cáo của UNDP, chỉ số về sự phát triển con người (HDI) đang giảm chậm, từ khoảng 1,7% trước năm 2000 xuống còn khoảng 0,96% trong những năm gần đây. Năm 2014, theo UNDP Việt Nam đứng thứ 121/187 quốc gia và lãnh thổ về HDI, được đánh giá ở mức trung bình trên thế giới. Trong khi đó các nước trong khu vực như Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines đều có chỉ số tăng trưởng tăng dần đều. Với tầm quan trọng như vậy của phát triển con người, chúng ta phải nghiên cứu vấn đề này nhằm hiểu thêm và nắm rõ được các yếu tố phát triển con người cũng như tìm ra các giải pháp nâng cao chỉ số HDI, nâng cao trình độ phát triển con người ở Việt Nam.

According to the UNDP report, indicators of human development (HDI) are slowly decreasing, from about 1.7% prior to 2000 to about 0.96% in recent years. By 2014, according to the UNDP Vietnam ranks 121/187 countries and territories on the HUMAN DEVELOPMENT INDEX, measured in the average in the world. Whereas the countries in the region such as Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines has increasing growth indicators are. With such importance of human development, we need to study this issue aim to understand and grasp the human development factors, as well as finding solutions for improving HUMAN DEVELOPMENT INDEX indicator, raise the level of human development in Vietnam.

Meanwhile the regional countries like Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines offers growth index increased steadily. With such importance of human development, we must study this issue to learn more and understand the elements of human development as well as finding solutions to improve the HDI, raising the level of human development in Vietnam.
