Về phía học sinh, các em phải động não, tự khám phá kiến thức thông qua các hoạt động theo cặp và theo nhóm, sẵn sàng thực hiện nhiệm vụ ngôn ngữ và giao tiếp một cách tích cực dưới sự giám sát và giúp đỡ của giáo viên. Trong đường hướng giao tiếp năng lực giao tiếp thông qua các kỹ năng là đích phải được rèn luyện và năng lực ngôn ngữ là phương tiện phải được cung cấp để đạt được đích giao tiếp.
