Tôi thường để ý những người bạn của mình viết blog, diary, hoặc những mẫu chuyện ngăn trên mạng xã hội. Tôi nhận ra họ rằng họ lấy các ý tưởng của người khác để bỏ vô mà không trích dẫn hay nói rõ tác giả là ai. Tôi hỏi họ thì họ nói họ có tham khảo nhưng vì là viết lách và không có mục đích gì khác ngoài việc chia sẻ cho mọi người xem nên họ phớt lờ về việc đạo văn. Hôm nọ tôi đọc một bài báo trên mạng rất hay, nhưng tôi không tin đó là ý tưởng thực sự của họ. Tôi hỏi họ thì họ nói rằng trang web của họ chỉ là trang web viết lách nhỏ chứ không phải là một trang báo to lớn gì nên việc trích dẫn cũng không đáng bận tâm. Những tình huống này làm cho tôi nghĩ tới rằng thì ra người viết phải thực uy tín, nổi tiếng, và có mục đích khoa học thì mới cần vấn đề luật đạo văn. Nhưng nếu họ cứ có cái tư tưởng như vậy thì sớm muộn gì khi đi làm hoặc đi học họ chắc chắn sẽ có ý tưởng đạo văn ăn sâu vào trong tâm trí họ. Điều đó làm sai lệch đi đạo đức của họ rất nhiều mà họ không nhận ra.
