Tháng 10/2010, hồ sơ công viên địa chất cao nguyên đá Đồng Văn đã được Hội đồng tư vấn Mạng lưới Công viên Địa chất toàn cầu của UNESCO công nhận là công viên địa chất toàn cầu. Đây hiện là danh hiệu duy nhất ở Việt Nam và thứ hai ở Đông Nam Á.
Cao nguyên đá Đồng Văn là vùng núi đá cao trên 1.000 m gồm 4 huyện: Quản Bạ, Yên Minh, Đồng Văn và Mèo Vạc, tổng diện tích tự nhiên là 2.356 km2. Nơi đây có 17 dân tộc với trên 250.000 dân cư trú.
Kể từ khi cao nguyên đá Đông Văn trở thành công viên địa chất toàn cầu, lượng khách du lịch đến với Hà Giang liên tục tăng, người dân cũng được hưởng lợi hơn nhờ du lịch. Đến nay 100% thôn bản, trường học trên vùng cao nguyên đá Đồng Văn được tuyên truyền giáo dục về công tác bảo vệ, giữ gìn di sản.

April 10, 2010, the record of geological park Dong van stone plateau were network Advisory Council Global geological park of UNESCO geological parks. This is the only title currently in Vietnam and two in Southeast Asia. Dong van stone plateau is a region of high rock on 1000 m consists of 4 districts: Manage contacts, Saddle, copper Pot, the Cat and the total area is 2356 km2. It features 17 races with over 250,000 inhabitants reside.Since the East Van stone plateau became global geological parks, the volume of tourists to HA Giang with constantly rising, people also are benefiting over thanks to tourism. To date 100% of villages, schools on Dong van stone plateau region are education about protecting, preserving the heritage.

10/2010, Profile Geoparks Dong Van Plateau has been the Advisory Council Network Global Geoparks of UNESCO's Global Geopark. This is currently the only title in Vietnam and Southeast Asia's second.
Dong Van Plateau is high rocky mountains over 1,000 meters including 4 districts of Quan Ba, Yen Minh, Dong Van and Meo Vac, total area Natural is 2,356 km2. It has 17 ethnic groups with over 250,000 residents.
Since Dong Van Stone Plateau become global geological park, the number of tourists to Ha Giang constantly increasing, people also benefit thanks travel. To date 100% of villages, schools on the rocky plateau of Dong Van is propaganda and education about protecting and preserving heritage.
