Sử dụng vật liệu địa kỹ thuật tổng hợp (vải địa kỹ thuật, lưới địa kỹ thuật) làm chức năng gia cố dạng đất có cốt, chức năng phân cách các lớp vật liệu có nhóm đường kính hạt khác nhau, gia cường làm nền khi đắp đê trên nền đất yếu. Như vậy tăng cường đuợc ổn định tổng thể cho đê (hình 1.12).
