Từ thị xã Bà Rịa, đi về hướng biển Long Hải chừng 30km, du khách sẽ gặp dãy núi có tên Minh. Núi Minh Đạm cao trung bình khoảng 200m (ngày xưa núi có tên là Châu Long và Châu Viên).

Năm 1948, để nhớ ơn hai vị Bí thư và Phó bí thư huyện Long Điền là Bùi Công Minh và Mạc Thanh Ðạm đã anh dũng hy sinh dưới chân núi, nên người dân đã đặt tên núi là Minh Ðạm. Minh Đạm còn là tên gọi căn cứ kháng chiến của quân và dân Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu trong hai cuộc kháng chiến chống Pháp và Mỹ. Núi Minh Ðạm có rừng cây um tùm xanh tươi. Trên núi có nhiều hang đá là nơi ăn ở, sinh hoạt, làm việc an toàn cho cán bộ, bộ đội. Mỗi hang đá mang tên của đơn vị đóng quân như: hang Huyện uỷ, hang Quân y, hang Quân giới...
