Việc sử dụng IFRS mang lại những lợi ích khá rõ, như : tiết kiệm chi phí soạn thảo chuẩn mực và nhanh chóng hòa nhập vào chuẩn mực kế toán quốc tế được chấp nhận; sự hội nhập về kế toán giúp cho các công ty huy động vốn trên thị trường quốc tế. Đến nay, tại Việt Nam đã cho phép (không bắt buộc) các công ty niêm yết trên thị truờng chứng khoán của họ sử dụng IFRS khi lập và trình bày BCTC theo giá thị trường.
Việc áp dụng IFRS giúp tăng cường khả năng so sánh và tính minh bạch của hoạt động báo cáo tài chính. Các báo cáo tài chính dựa theo IFRS được chấp nhận rộng rãi tại nhiều nước trên thế giới. Các yếu tố này là điều kiện tiên quyết để tiếp cận thị trường vốn quốc tế.
Các Báo cáo tài chính có liên quan, có thể so sánh và phản ánh trung thực tình hình tài chính của tổ chức là điều mà các nhà đầu tư đang tìm kiếm trong việc đưa ra quyết định đầu tư của mình.
mặc dù không có nhiều công ty ở việt nam áp dụng IAC trong việc lập báo cáo tài chính nhưng nó cũng gây ảnh hưởng khá lớn tới Việt Nam
