Đến năm 2020, xây dựng huyện Từ Liêm giàu đẹp, văn minh; phát triển kinh tế - xã hội toàn diện và bền vững trên cơ sở tăng trưởng và chuyển dịch cơ cấu kinh tế nhanh, hiệu quả và bền vững; cải tạo, nâng cấp và xây dựng mới hệ thống cơ sở hạ tầng đô thị theo hướng văn minh và hiện đại; cải thiện môi trường sinh thái và môi trường xã hội; giữ vững an ninh chính trị và trật tự xã hội; không ngừng nâng cao đời sống vật chất, văn hóa tinh thần của nhân dân.
