 Đối với sản phẩm từ cấp 1 đến cấp n, nhu cầu thô ở kỳ t bằng tổng nhu cầu phụ thuộc (cho sx) và nhu cầu độc lập (bán trực tiếp ở thị trường) ở kỳ đó:

BB(pt)t Là nhu cầu thô phụ thuộc ở kỳ t
BB(đl)t Là nhu cầu độc lập ở kỳ t
Nhu cầu độc lập được xác định bằng dự báo khách hàng. Nhu cầu phụ thuộc được tính theo cũng thức:
