Văn Cao tên thật là Nguyễn Văn Cao. Sinh ngày 15 tháng 11 năm 1923, mất ngày 10 tháng 7 năm 1995.Là một nhạc sĩ Việt Nam nổi tiếng.Ông là tác giả của bài Tiến Quân Ca, Quốc Ca của Việt Nam. Văn Cao còn là một họa sĩ, nhà thơ với nhiều tác phẩm có giá trị.Thuộc thế hệ nhạc sĩ tiên phong.Văn Cao sáng tác các ca khúc như Bến Xuân, Suối Mơ...Năm 1996 một năm sau khi mất ông được nhà nước trao tặng giải thưởng Hồ Chí Minh trong đợt trao giải đầu tiên. Ông cũng được nhà nước trao nhiều giải thưởng khác. Tên của ông cũng được đặt cho nhiều con phố đẹp như Hà Nội, thành phố Hồ Chí Minh, Hải Phòng, Huế...
