Chính thức cấp giấy phép lái xe quốc tế
Sáng 3/11, Tổng cục Đường bộ Việt Nam (Bộ Giao thông Vận tải) đã chính thức cấp giấy phép lái xe quốc tế (International Driving Permit-IDP) cho công dân Việt Nam.
Theo ông Nguyễn Văn Quyền, Phó Tổng cục trưởng Tổng cục Đường bộ Việt Nam, người dân có nhu cầu cấp giấy phép lái xe quốc tế chỉ cần làm đơn đề nghị cấp giấy phép lái xe quốc tế theo mẫu và mang giấy phép lái xe, hộ chiếu còn giá trị để kiểm tra, đối chiếu, 2 ảnh 3x4 nền màu trắng đến các điểm cấp đổi làm thủ tục, nộp lệ phí.
Sau khoảng 5 ngày, người dân sẽ lấy được giấy phép lái xe quốc tế với thời hạn không quá 3 năm và được sử dụng tại 73 nước theo quy định của Công ước quốc tế 1968 về giao thông đường bộ và công ước về biển báo-tín hiệu đường bộ (Công ước Vienna).
Tuy nhiên, ông Quyền cũng cho rằng, với điều kiện máy móc và lượng người ít, chỉ trong vòng 2-3 tiếng là có thể lấy được bằng lái xe quốc tế với mức lệ phí cấp là 135.000 đồng. Trong trường hợp không đợi lấy bằng thì lái xe có thể ủy quyền cho người khác lấy hoặc để lại địa chỉ và nộp phí để đơn vị cấp gửi qua đường bưu điện về nơi cú trú.
