Tuy nhiên, có thể thấy rõ kiến thức Toán hiện đang xa rời mục tiêu ấy.

Thực tế, ngoài các nhà Toán học nghiên cứu chuyên sâu, không ai sử dụng số ảo, số phức kể cả kỹ sư, nhà thơ, nhà lãnh đạo… cũng không cần. Vậy mà năm nào, đề thi tốt nghiệp cũng có một bài số phức. Chỉ học lý thuyết suông chứ đâu có vận dụng được vào thực tế. Phải đặt câu hỏi là ra cuộc sống, công việc nghề vận dụng bao nhiêu phần trăm kiến thức phổ thông? Vậy học để làm gì? Để thi à?
