Electrical conduits shall conform to the requirements of Local Electric Authority and NEC
Specifications and be as specified on the drawings.
All conduits shall be steel and galvanised by the hot-dip process.
All conduits shall be as specified herein with a minimum size of 15 mm. unless otherwise
noted. Rigid Steel Conduits (RSC) shall be used for burying directly in the ground.
Intermediate Metal Conduits (IMC) shall be used for installations in plant rooms, car parks,
or cast in walls or slabs.
Electrical Metallic Tubing (EMT) shall be used in all locations unless otherwise specified for
Rigid Steel or Intermediate Metal conduits.
Flexible Metal conduits (FMC) located in wet locations shall be of the liquidtight type.
Where conduits enter cabinets and equipment, conduit bushings and double locknuts shall
be used.
The end of all conduits shall be tightly plugged to exclude dust and moisture while the
buildings are under construction.
